How to Make a GIF from a Video
- 1Copy the link of a public Instagram Reel, TikTok, YouTube video or a video from another supported platform, and paste it above.
- 2Move the Start slider to the moment your GIF should begin; it covers up to 8 seconds from there.
- 3Tap Make a GIF. It is made on our server in a few seconds and saved as a .gif file.
Why a GIF?
A GIF plays by itself, loops forever and works almost everywhere: chat apps, forums, emails, slides and documents that don't play videos. For a reaction, a short how-to step or a funny moment, it is often the easiest format to share.
This tool makes one from the part of a video you choose, without an app, an account or a desktop editor.
What You Get
The GIF is 360 pixels wide (the height follows the video's shape), runs at 10 frames per second and lasts up to 8 seconds. That keeps the file small, usually a few megabytes, so it sends quickly and loads fast for whoever receives it.
GIFs have no sound and only 256 colours, so they look softer than the video itself. If you need sound or full sharpness, use Download clip (MP4) on the same card instead.
Made on Our Server
Making a GIF means re-drawing every frame, which takes real computing time, so the server makes one GIF at a time. If someone else's is being made at that moment, you'll be asked to try again in a few seconds.
Your GIF streams to you while it is being made. Nothing is stored afterwards, and no watermark is added.
Using GIFs Fairly
A GIF made from someone's video is still their work. Reaction GIFs shared in a chat are common; using one in an ad or as if you made it needs the creator's permission.
Only public videos work, since SaveReelsFast never logs in to any account.
